LEMON RICE

Lemon Rice


Ingredients:

2 cup Basmati rice,
1 tsp Channa dal,
1 tsp Urad dal,
1/4 tsp asafoetida (heeng),
1/4 tsp mustard seeds,
1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
2 tsp Ghee,
Juice of 2 lemons, and
Salt to taste.

Method:

  • Wash and clean the rice thoroughly.
  • Boil it in 1/4 litre of water till done.
  • Heat the Ghee in a separate shallow pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, channa dal, Urad dal, asafoetida and turmeric powder to it.
  • Fry lightly till it emits fragrance.
  • Mix well with cooked rice for flavor.
  • Add salt to the lemon juice and pour it over rice and mix well.
  • Serve hot.
